Randy Brochu | Play-by-Play Broadcaster

Randy Brochu is a versatile play-by-play announcer covering multiple sports for UConn, Sacred Heart University, the CT Ice Tournament, and the Northeast Conference.

Randy begins his 8th season at UConn in 2026-27 as the Television Voice of Men’s Hockey on ESPN+ and Baseball on WWAX and ESPN+. He also contributes to coverage for both Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Football, and Volleyball on WFSB, WWAX, and ESPN+.

Randy also begins his 19th season at Sacred Heart University as “Voice of the Pioneers” for Men’s Hockey, Men’s and Women’s Basketball, and Football on ESPN+, SNY,  Amazon Prime, WWAX, and FloSports.

Randy also has served as Television Voice of the Connecticut Ice Tournament for the last three years on SNY, covering the annual College Hockey tournament featuring UConn, Quinnipiac, Yale, and Sacred Heart. He also has called the Northeast Conference Men’s Lacrosse Tournament on ESPN+ for four seasons. 

As a baseball broadcaster, Randy has called Minor League and College Baseball on both TV and Radio from coast-to-coast. He has worked as a radio broadcaster of the Yakima Bears (A-affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks), Norwich Navigators (AA-affiliate of the San Francisco Giants), and Connecticut Tigers (A-affiliate of the Detroit Tigers) and as a television broadcaster for the Northeast Conference Tournament on ESPN+ and the Futures League (Summer Collegiate Baseball) on NESN and WWAX.

Born and raised in New Britain, CT, he grew up influenced by both the New York and Boston sports media markets. He graduated from Boston University with a Bachelors in Journalism and Sacred Heart University with a Masters in Communication - Multimedia Journalism.  His enthusiasm for connecting with the audience brings the game to life through a shared experience, presenting the important storylines for each team, athlete, and coach he covers and delivering the feel of the moments and game day environment for each game he calls.
